The next meeting of Unix Unanimous will take place Wednesday, January 31 at 6:45pm, in the Rose Room of the North York Memorial Community Hall. For the January meeting we will pick up where we left at the November meeting (seems like ages ago!) Jean-Francois Lamy will be speaking on the TeX text formatting system. We expect to have some time for some review of winter Usenix and Uniforum from those of us who'll be going next week, and some informal discussions on whatever you want to talk about. As was the case last time, this meeting will have a deli spread. Cost will be determined at mealtime, depending on how many are eating, but will likely be about $7.00. ********* NOTE BELOW ********** This year there will be a different way to confirm that you want to attend (so we can order food for you). a) Those of you who know you'll be attending each month may place a "standing order" by sending e-mail to "food-standing@telly". Then you need only reply those months you *don't* plan to attend. (When doing so, make your intentions clear in the Subject: line.) b) If you can't attend every meeting, just send mail to "food@telly" to confirm in those months you'll be attending. c) If your mail program won't do any of the above, just reply to this message or call me at the number below. Unix Unanimous is an informal group of enthusiasts who meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month, to socialize and discuss (sometimes in great technical detail) Unix-related topics of mutual interest. There is a loose affliliation with Uniforum Canada (which pays for the room rental) but there are no fees or memberships in anything required to attend. Newcomers are always welcome. The North York Memorial Community Hall is located on the bottom floor of the new North York Main Library building, located next to North York City Hall at the corner of Yonge Street and Park Home Avenue, about half way between Sheppard and Finch.
