I think net.asia is too broad a substitution for net.india. Asia is not a small continent like Europe and the culture in different parts of Asia are far too varied unlike Europe or USA . for example in India we have 15 languages written in 9 -10 different scripts . we have three different races and a number of different religions. And a thing to note about the languages is that they are not spoken by a small group of people but a large number of them. The list of ten most spoken languages in the world contains atleast two Chinese and four Indian Languages. However the South Asian region (i.e. the Indian Subcontinent -- India,pakistan,Nepal,Afghanistan,Srilanka,BanglaDesh,Bhutan ,Maldives etc) is culturally quite similar ( except for the religion ) and I would not mind or rather would like to subscribe to a group like net.southasia but a group like net.asia is TOO wide a group..
