		       UniForum  1989

	    "Turning Technology into Solutions"

       Monday, February 27 -- Thursday, March 2, 1989
		   San Francisco, California


This will be the sixth annual UniForum conference. The conference will
be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The UniForum conference
theme "Turning Technology into Solutions", is an acknowledgement of the
new maturity of the UNIX marketplace. UniForum 1989 intends to address
user applications needs and issues.

The conference format will present three separate session tracks:
Marketplace, Technical and Solutions. The tracks will run concurrently
on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. All day tutorials will be conducted
on Monday.

- The MARKETPLACE TRACK will present panel sessions that address current
industry trends and concepts.

- The TECHNICAL TRACK is the forum for presentation of technical papers,
which are also published in the UniForum proceedings document. The
intended audience is technically inclined -- including but not limited
to, hardware and software designers, programmers and system
administrators.

- The SOLUTIONS TRACK will take the perspective of the end-user on issues
that affect usability and real-world applications.

- On Monday, the ALL DAY TUTORIAL SEMINARS will explore selected aspects
of the UNIX operating systems. Instructors should be training-oriented
individuals capable of effectively conducting an intensive, comprehensive,
subject specific course.

DEADLINE FOR PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS:  All proposals must be received at the
  /usr/group offices by June 1, 1988.
