The Santa Cruz Operation, Inc., announces SCO Forum88, a
conference for developers and resellers interested in the
XENIX/UNIX environment.
This year's forum on the campus of the University of California,
Santa Cruz, from August 21 to 26, will feature marketing and
technical sessions, panel discussions, workshops, a graphics
applications contest, and birds-of-a-feather groups, as well as
numerous recreational events such as barbecues and sightseeing
tours. In addition, SCO will introduce new products and discuss
its market strategies, and selected participants will exhibit
their own products in an exhibition area featuring over 65
exhibits. The conference will include both Marketing and
technical sessions and offers those attending five "tracks" with
varying blends of technical, marketing, and training sessions.
All five tracks will also include SCO product presentations:
Future versions of SCO XENIX, SCO Office Portfolio (SCO's
integrated office automation system), SCO MultiView (SCO's
windowing environment and user interface), SCO uniPATH SNA -
3270 (SCO' s micro-to-mainframe communications package),
A featured SCO Forum88 event will be the SCO CGI Graphics
Application Contest, which gives graphics developers, amateurs,
and students an opportunity to exhibit their computer graphics
creativity to the SCO XENIX community. The winning entry
will receive a new GRid 286 laptop computer; other prizes include
SCO products.
Participating developers at SCO Forum88 will also receive free
copies of the SCO Product Engineering Toolkit which includes a
floppy diskette and hardcopy guide showing developers how to
package applications and device drivers for easy installation on
SCO XENIX by an end user.
SCO will provide a Support Dept. help desk that will be staffed
by SCO Hotline support analysts. SCO engineers and sales people
will also be present to answer questions. Exhibit space is
limited, so interested companies should contact the SCO
Forum88 Coordinator, at the number below, as soon as
possible. Sightseeing opportunities In addition to the
conference sessions, birds-of-a-feather gatherings, SCO CGI
Contest, and other SCO Forum88 events, SCO has arranged
several sightseeing trips for interested SCO Forum88
participants and their families. Attendance is limited.
