Graphics Interface '89
Call for Participation
London, Ontario, Canada 19-23 June 1989
Graphics Interface '89 is the fifteenth Canadian Conference devoted
to computer graphics and interactive techniques, and is the oldest
regularly scheduled computer graphics conference in the world. Now
an annual conference, film festival and tutorials, Graphics Interface
has established a reputation for high quality technical program. The
1989 conference will be held in London Ontario 19-23 June 1989 in
conjunction with Vision Interface '89. Graphics Interface '89 is
sponsored by the Canadian Man-Computer Communications society.

Four copies of a full paper 31 October 1988
Tutorials Proposals 15 November 1988
Authors notified 1 February 1989
Cover submission 1 February 1989
Final paper due 28 March 1989
Electronic theatre submissions 1 May 1989

Conference Program
Contributions are solicited describing unpublished research results and
applications in computer graphics, including the following areas:
image synthesis and realism, shading and rendering algorithms, geometric
modeling, computer animation, interactive techniques, graphics for
CAD/CAM, computer-aided building design, industrial and robotics
applications, graphics in business, user interfaces, windowing systems,
computer cartography, image processing, medical graphics, graphics in
education, graphics and the arts, visualization and graphics in
simulation.

Electronic Theatre
The electronic theatre is a regular feature of Graphics Interface.
Film and video tapes that illustrate the use of computer graphics
and interactive techniques will be considered for presentation at
the 1989 conference. This material could present new techniques, the
artistic application of computer graphics, or a historical perspective
of the field. All submitted material will be reviewed by the Electronic
Theatre Committee. Due to time constraints the entire film or video
tape may not be shown. The committee reserves the right to edit all
submitted material for presentation. Submissions must be received by
the General Chairman by 1 May 1989.
Proceedings Cover
Submissions are invited for the cover of GI'89 Proceedings. Please send
all submissions to Marceli Wein by February 1 1989.
Tutorials
Two days (19 and 20 June) have been set aside for tutorials. Proposals
for tutorials should be submitted to the General Chairman by 15 Nov
1988.
