CALL FOR PAPERS
Fifth Australian Conference on
Applications of Expert Systems
Sydney, May 3-5 1989
As with previous conferences in the series, this Confer-
ence will address expert systems technology and its uses.
The Conference will include an exhibition of expert sys-
tems hardware, software and applications.
Papers are invited on any aspect of the technology
including:
o surveys of expert systems activity in specific
application domains such as banking, finance, con-
struction, process control etc.
o examples of expert systems applications, whether
large-scale or small
o knowledge engineering methodology
o acquisition and management of knowledge
o design and evaluation of tools for building expert
systems
o specialised hardware for expert systems development
and deployment
Papers will be considered in two categories:
short papers
(indicative length 5-15 pages) that present
preliminary results, prototype studies or pro-
gress reports on expert systems projects
long papers
(12-30 pages) that provide a more detailed
discussion of completed systems, evaluations of
methods etc.
Authors may nominate papers for a particular category or
may leave this to the discretion of the reviewers. Long
papers will be allocated increased time for presentation
at the Conference.
Authors should note the following dates:
Deadline for papers: 30 January 1989
Notification of acceptance: 13 March 1989
Deadline for camera-ready copy: 7 April 1989
Presentation at the Conference: 3-5 May 1989
