GEO '89 a symposium on GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS for COMMAND AND CONTROL will be held at SHAPE TECHNICAL CENTRE The Hague, The Netherlands from 3rd to 6th October, 1989 The symposium will provide a forum for the assessment and discussion of : * requirements for and types of geographical data for NATO command, control, communications and information (C3I) systems, * current trends in the automated handling of geographical data for NATO C3I. Topics will include : * NATO and national approaches to geographical information systems, * national geographical data bases, * standardization of geographical data, * applications of geographical data bases in C3I projects, * methods for processing, storing, retrieving, and displaying geographical information, * geographical information system software and hardware. -------------------------------------------------------------- Geo '89 TUTORIAL 2nd October 1989 A tutorial on raster and vector maps, and object-oriented geographical data bases for symposium participants will be held at SHAPE Technical Centre on 2nd October 1989. -------------------------------------------------------------- TRADE SHOW In connection with the symposium, a trade show is being organized by STC and Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) (Europe), at which software and hardware of relevance to the symposium theme will be displayed and demonstrated. -------------------------------------------------------------- FOR FURTHER INFORMATION contact : G.
