4th ATERB FPS Workshop Sydney, 5-6 July 1989 Call For Papers And Registrations The fourth Fast Packet Switching (FPS) Workshop will be held at the Overseas Telecommunications Commission, Sydney, 5-6 July 1989. The workshop will be jointly sponsored by the Australian Telecommunications and Electronics Research Board (ATERB), Overseas Telecommunications Commission (OTC), and Telecom Australia. Last year's workshop was attended by 75 people from 23 organisations, and some 22 papers were presented. ATERB, Telecom and OTC are supporting a coordinated program of complementary investigations relating to Fast Packet Switching and its application to integrated broadband services. The workshop will follow the same format established by the previous three, all of which have been very successful. Fast Packet Switching has been accepted by CCITT as the basis of the future Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network (B-ISDN) with standards expected by 1992. It is expected that this will encourage representatives from industry, in addition to research institutions, to participate in the workshop.
