SBmicro - The Brazilian Microelectronics Society will hold its IV Annual Congress from July 12 to 14, 1989 co-sponsored by THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL in PORTO ALEGRE - BRAZIL. ABOUT THE PLACE : Porto Alegre, a southern Brazilian capital, is a pleasant city with over 1 million inhabitants. Lying at 30! south latitude, Porto Alegre has a mild climate during July, and offers to the visitor many attractions from a unique mixing of Brazilian, european, and "gaucho" traditions. ABOUT THE CONFERENCE : SBmicro 89 brings together specialists and researchers in several areas related to Microelectronics. The technical program comprises full-length papers and briefs by foreign authors and by local Brazilian authors, invited papers by international specialists, and technical discussion panels. During the Congress an industrial Exhibition will be held sponsored by microelectronics, electronic components and system industries as well as major Brazilian research centers. INSTRUCTIONS TO THE AUTHORS : The papers have to be submitted to the Technical Program Committee in a cameraready format, typed in double space in either A4 or 8,5" x 11" paper, leaving one-inch margins on each side. The first page should include the following information : 1) Title of paper. 2) Names, mailing addresses and phone numbers of authors. 3) Name of organizations, intitutions, etc, to which authors are affiliated (if applicable). Contributions will be accepted in either of two categories : 1. Full-length ARTICLES : Papers up to 10 pages long, for a 25 minutes presentation in the Conference. 2. BRIEFS : Reports up to 2 pages long, for a 10 minutes presentation. This is a brief technical communication which suits the purpose of reporting partial or preliminary results of undergoing research and development. English language is recommended but not required.
