16th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE

			JERUSALEM, ISRAEL
		   MAY 28th to JUNE 1st, 1989

			  TRAVEL GRANTS

Three categories of Travel Grants will be available for partici-
pants in the 16th International Symposium on Computer Architec-
ture. These are Student Grants, US Scientists, and General.
Applications will be first considered for the specific category
requested, and if funding is not available in that category, they
will be considered in any other applicable category.

Student Grants are intended for Computer Science and Electrical
and Computer Engineering students who are actively doing thesis
research work in the area of	Computer Architecture. Highest
priority will be given to those students having a paper accepted
for Symposium presentation and who are members of SIGARCH. Other
students who have submitted papers which have not been accepted
will be considered next. Any remaining awards will be	given to
students currently performing thesis research in Computer Archi-
tecture.

Travel Grants for US Scientist are offered in anticipation of	a
possible Group Travel Grant from the National Science Foundation.
Any member of	the US scientific community, irrespective of
nationality, who performs work in the US is eligible to apply.
Awards will be given without consideration of	race, color, or
national origin, and they will be in the amount of $950, or the
cost of round trip jet economy air fare, whichever is	less (US
flag carriers	have to be used). Authors of accepted papers who
are presenting their work at the Symposium will be given prefer-
ence.

General Grants will be awarded based on potential contribution to
the Symposium's technical program and its associated workshops,
and extent of need.

All awards will be paid upon receipt	of documented	Symposium
registration, travel, lodging and meal expenses, together with a
brief Trip Report. Applications will be accepted until April 15,
1989, and award recipients will be notified by April 30, 1989.
Travel expense accounting and associated receipts, together with
the trip report, must be sent by award recipients to the Travel
Grants Chair within two weeks	of the end of the Symposium.
Travel	grant recipients are determined by a selection committee
without regard to race, color or national origin.
