Call for Papers Special Issue of Computer on Image Database Management The December 1989 issue of Computer will be devoted to a wide range of topics in Image Database Management. This special issue will focus on recent research results and high quality state-of-art reviews in the following areas: * data modeling techniques for iconic entities * design of model-base managers * image interpretation in an object-oriented environement * query language design for iconic entities * efficient image data representation, storage, and retrieval techniques * application-oriented image database management systems * query processing techniques which utilize iconic information Instructions for Submitting Manuscripts Manuscripts must not exceed 32 double-spaced pages. Papers must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. All reviewers will be anonymous for the review process. Manuscripts should include a cover page with tiltle, each author's name, affiliation, address, and telephone number, as well as keywords that identify the central issues of the manuscript's content. The second page of the manuscript should contain only the tilte and an abstract of about 300 words. Deadlines * 300-word abstract of the manuscript is due as soon as possible * Eight (8) copies of the full manuscript are due by May 1, 1989 * Authors will be notified of acceptance by July 1, 1989 * Final version of the manuscript is due by August 1, 1989 Send Submissions and Questions to: William I.
