When uucp tries to write onto a full filesystem (the filesystem on the receiving end is full), it creates a zero-length file, but then it reports that the job has succeeded and removes it from the queue of the transmitting system. Unless you actually look at the results on the receiving end, you would think that the transfer really did occur and would go to bed feeling safe and secure...
