            CALL FOR PAPERS AND REGISTRATION

     ------- FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE --------

The presentations at the conference will reflect not only the
invited delegates' current research concerns but also the insights
gained from their intensive interaction at a two-day workshop
retreat just preceding the conference.

The concluding session (Feb. 18, 2-6 P.M.) will feature a
special panel of all the invited delegates on the task of
developing a list of criteria for the scientific study of
consciousness.

The conference host, the Bhaktivedanta Institute, is a private
non-profit research organization which promotes international
discussions on consciousness-based perspectives in relation to
outstanding problems in various areas of modern science. It has
centers in Bombay and San Francisco and a staff of twenty
concerned scientists from various fields.

Participation is by registration. The conference format will
afford registered participants ample opportunity for interaction
with the distinguished guests. Early registration is encouraged.

REGISTRATION FEE: $125.00 before Dec. 15, 1989;
                  $150.00 thereafter.

To register, please send check/money order (in U.S. dollars
only) drawn in favor of the Bhaktivedanta Institute to the
conference secretariat. Please include name, address,
institutional affliation and research interests (if any) of the
registrant.

CALL FOR PAPERS:

While all oral presentations are by invitation only,
opportunities exist for paper presentation in poster sessions on
any topic related to the broad theme of the conference.
Interested authors may submit three hard-copies of a full paper
