CALL FOR PAPERS
The 1990 European Simulation Conference will bring together six
individual conferences. We invite papers for presentation at the
conference and for publication in the multiconference proceedings, on
the following subjects:
SIMULATION METHODOLOGY, LANGUAGES AND ARCHITECTURE:
with topics as: Simulation Languages, Simulation of Systems, Special
Architecture, User Friendly Tools, Use of Data Bases in Simulation,
Discrete and Continous Model Building Methodologies, Output Analysis,
Distributed and Parallel Architectures, Numerical Methods
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND SIMULATION:
with topics as: Object Oriented Modelling, Neural Networks, Knowledge
Based Simulation Tools and Environments, Intelligent Environments,
Intelligent Interfaces for Simulation, Realtime Knowledge Based
Systems, Intelligent Data Bases for Simulation
COMPUTER INTEGRATED MANUFACTURING (CIM) AND SIMULATION:
with topics as: Simulation Methodology in FMS, Simulation in Quality
Control, Modelling and Simulation Tools for FMS Planning, Graphical
Simulation for FMS, Knowledge Based Simulation in FMS, Simulation in
Automation and Robotics, Simulation in Manufacturing, Training and
Education
SIMULATION IN ENERGY SYSTEMS:
with topics as: Simulation in Nuclear Power Plant Safety, Advanced
Training Simulator Concepts (including Accident Management Procedu-
res), Progress in Fossil Power Plant Simulation, On-line Simulation
for Plant Surveillance and Diagnostics, Simulation of Gas and Oil
Transport and District Heating Systems, Simulation in Advanced Energy
Systems
SIMULATION IN BIOLOGY AND MEDICINE:
with topics as: Diagnosis, Planning and Optimization of Diagnostics
and Therapeutic Procedures, Planning of Surgical Techniques, Training
in Surgical Techniques, Accomodation of Protheses and Organts to
Patiens, Training in the Use of Medical Devices and in Emergency
Procedures, Development of Medical Workstations using Simulation - The
above applications of Simulation to tasks in medicine include the
areas of Pharmacology, Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology and Biolo-
gical Evolution
SIMULATION OF COMPUTER SYSTEMS:
with topics as: Circuit Design, Logic Design, System Design, Simula-
tion of Computer Networks, Simulation Tools, Design Modelling Techni-
ques, Design Description and Simulation Languages
Deadlines and Requirements:
Extended Abstracts (two pages typewritten without drawings and
tables) are due to arrive in triplicate at the SCS International,
European Simulation Office before NOVEMBER 30th, 1989. Please
indicate which of the conferences the paper should belong to.
Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent by JANUARY
15th, 1990. An author kit with complete instructions for
preparing a camera-ready copy for the proceedings will be sent to
accepted authors.
Camera ready copies of accepted papers must be sent to the SCS
International European Office by MARCH 15th, 1990. A final review
of each paper will take place at that time.
Short Papers must be sent to the SCS International European
Simulation Office by MARCH 30th, 1990 and will be published in
the short papers volume of the proceedings. Notification of
acceptance will be sent by APRIL 20th, 1990.
DEADLINES: Please note that all deadlines must be adhered to
strictly.
LANGUAGE: The official language and language of the accepted
papers is English.
PUBLICATION: Papers of excess length will require an extra page
charge.
