The Methodlogy of Knowledge Based Systems in Process Control

                  A section of the 8th.

      INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS of CYBERNETICS and SYSTEMS

Despite several succeful examples of expert systems, the KBS development
remains today still empiric and difficult. The main goal of this section
is to debate the new concepts, methods, tools and practices emerging  in
the  development of KBS in process control.  Both original  research and
survey papers will be considred. Some relevant topics include,  but  not
limited to:

 -- AI in Process Control and Real Time Applications.
 -- Methodology to Building Expert Systems.
 -- Troubelshooting Diagnostic Systems.
 -- Second Generation of Expert Systems.

This  triennial  conference  is  supported by many international groups
concerned  with  management,  the  science,  computers  and information
systems. The 1990 Congress is the eighth in the series, previous events
having  been  held in London  (1969), Oxford  (1972), Bucharest (1975),
Amesterdam (1978), Mexico City  (1981), Paris (1984) and London (1987).
The  congress  will  provide  a  forum,  symposia and sections, for the
presentation  and  discussion  of current research. All meeting will be
held in midtown Manhattan.


Papers should be approximately 2,000-4,000 words in length. Please
sent 4 hard copies to:
