Tan (Singapore) K. Tanaka (Japan) R. Topor (Australia) K. Yokota (Japan) a workshop will be held at the Townhouse Hotel, Melbourne, on April 25-26, 1990. We aim to make the workshop informal. Authors (from all over the globe) are invited to submit papers (maximum of 10 pages) on all aspects of future database systems including, but not restricted to: Deductive Databases Distributed Databases Heterogeneous Databases Knowledge Base Systems Object-oriented & Extensible DBMS Semantic Databases Temporal Databases Advanced Applications Theory and Algorithms Submit two copies of manuscripts by January 10, 1990 to: Professor K. Ramamohanarao, Future Databases '90, Department of Computer Science, The University of Melbourne, Parkville, 3052. AUSTRALIA A maximum of 20 papers will be presented at the workshop. Proceedings of the workshop will be issued. Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection by February 10, 1990. Subject to approval by the authors, selected papers from the workshop will also appear in a special edition of the Australian Computer Journal to be edited by Professor K. Ramamohanarao. The Workshop is sponsored by the Key Centre for Knowledge-based Systems (RMIT and the University of Melbourne) and the Key Centre for Software Technology (University of Queensland) in conjunction with VLDB '90. Cost of the workshop, which does not include accommodation, is $100. Students will be registered for $50. Some accommodation has been reserved at the Townhouse Hotel ($90 (AUS) per twin room per day).
