INTRODUCTION
INDOLAN '90 is an International Conference on Local Area Networks.
The aims of the Conference are :
* to bring together professionals from various universities,
industries & R&D labs around the world to discuss the state-of-
the-art in the field of Local Area Networks.
* to expose persons in the Computer field to advanced concepts in
LAN through tutorials conducted by Internationally renowned
practitioners in LAN technology.
* to display the current technology in LANs through a specialist
exhibition.

* International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP)
Working Group 6.4
IFIP is the apex body of national Computer Societies around the world.
CSI is the premier body of Computer professionals in India, with a
membership of over 10,000.
The Conference is guided by an advisory Committee comprising of eminent
personalities in India and abroad.
Active cooperation is being extended from national bodies like
Department of Electronics, IIT's etc.
The Conference is an official event in the Calender of IFIP as well as CSI.
PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS
PAPERS JANUARY 30 & 31, 1990
Many highly professional papers have been received from all over the
world, and have been refereed blind by Internationally well known
referees. Papers cover topics such as

* Internetworking of LAN's & WAN's
* Distributed Operating Systems.
Of these, 15 papers will be presented by authors from USA, UK, France,
Germany, Brazil, Japan, India and other countries.

Efforts are being made to provide the papers at the Conference itself.
The complete proceedings will be produced by North-Holland.

HOTELS
Deluxe Hotels of International Standard are available at Madras,
including the Conference venue itself - Park Sheraton. The organising
Committee is booking rooms with the Welcomgroup and Taj Group Hotels
for delegates. Delegates requiring hotel accommodation should specifi-
cally contact the Organising Committee. Hotel rooms may be in short
supply. All foreign visitors are required by law to pay in foreign
currency.
ABOUT THE HOST CITY
Madras is the venue of the Conference. This city of 5 million on the
eastern coast of Southern India has excellent infrastructure &
facilities for International events and has a high level of Computer
activity which includes manufacturing, academic institutions and
Societies. Madras in late January has pleasant weather (average
day temparature 21-28 deg C).
Madras has an International airport served by International Airlines
like Air India, British Airways, Singapore Airlines etc. and is well
connected by rail and air to the rest of India.
