The Consortium for Computing in Undergraduate Education announces its annual conference to be held March 30-31, 1990 at Carnegie Mellon University. Tools for Scholars will focus on the use of basic software tools, e.g. hypertext, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, interactive video, bibliographic searching, authoring languages, to teach undergraduate classes. It will also feature hands-on workshops for computing novices, demonstrations of award-winning software and demonstrations of hardware. Featured speakers will be Dr. Robert Kozma, Program Director at NCRIPTAL and Dr. Ron Weissman,Assistant vice President for Academic Computing at Brown University Papers will be 30-minute presentations on the use of a software tool in teaching undergraduates. Submissions on work that applies to more than one discipline and submissions for presentations that are combined lecture/demonstrations are strongly encouraged.
