We have version 5.0 USG Unix and have a number of problems with uucp: 1. LCK.XQT being left around with no uuxqt running. 2. filename expansion (either version of '~') not being handled properly on at least the receiving side. In one particular instance, a file sent to sys!~usr ended up in /usr/spool/uucp/uucppublic/usr/file (NOT even in /usr/spool/uucppublic which would also be incorrect!) Actually, I think the user sent the file to his rje directory. In another instance, a file sent to users rje directory using '~usr/rje' ended up in uucppublic but somehow all the permissions were 600, owned by uucp!!! 3. uucico enters into an infinite alarm condition: alarm 1, alarm 2, ... alarm n,... Is anybody else using 5.0? Have you had any problems? If you are using 5.0, the 'fclose' is still missing in uuxqt.c, among other known bugs that USG has not fixed. I think 5.1 is coming out in the middle of this month. I hope that they fix some of this stuff. Dave Kahn hou5d!dmk
