           Ambassador Hotel and Convention Centre
                   Kingston, Ontario
                     May 6-8, 1990

Aim: The workshop is intended to provide an opportunity for those
interested in parallel compilation (that is parallelizing
the compilation task itself) to meet informally and
exchange ideas.

The following topics indicate the focus of the workshop. The
list is not intended to be exclusive.

* parallel parsing
* parallel semantic analysis
* complexity of compilation in parallel
* performance issues
* theoretical bounds on compilation algorithms
* grammars appropriate for parallel compilation
* specialised hardware and accelerators

Format: Each participating researcher will be asked to make a short presentation
of about half an hour. There will be formal and informal opportunities for
group discussion. Copies of the position papers will be available at the
meeting.

Participation: Participation in the workshop is by invitation and attendance
will be limited to allow for interaction.
Researchers are invited to submit a brief (~2000 word) position
paper by March 1st. Invitations will be issued by April 1st.

The workshop will be held at the Ambassador Hotel and Convention Centre
in Kingston. The Workshop will begin with a Reception on the evening of
Sunday May 6th, and conclude mid-afternoon on May 8th to allow those
who wish to leave that evening to do so. Details of registration will be
sent with invitations.

Kingston can be reached by train from either Toronto or Montreal, and
by air from Toronto. It is also possible to fly to Syracuse, N.Y., and
