First Announcement and Call for Papers Workshop on Graphical Man-machine Communication in Production Automation Berlin, May, 14 - 16, 1991 Organized by: Wissenschaftlich-Technische Gesellschaft fuer Mess- und Automatisierungstechnik in der Kammer der Technik Berlin Institut fuer Automatisierung der Akademie der Wissenschaften Berlin SCOPE The increased and extended functionality of components of production automation and complex production processes requires an effective and fast communication between the machine and the operator. Computer graphical means and methods in combination with geometric modeling techniques form worldwide increasingly the fundamentals to implement high-efficient man-machine interfaces. Further on, advanced methods of informatics as artificial intelligence, object-oriented programming or graphical languages are applicated for the creation of modern user interfaces. The objective of this open workshop is to bring together interested experts from East and West to represent different R&D reults concerning systems or components for the advanced man-machine communication in manufacturing automation. TOPICS Papers can be submitted on the following topics: - user interface management and development systems - process visualization - graphic-geometrical simulation - AI methods in graphic-interactive man-machine systems CALL FOR PAPERS The conference language is English.
