CALL FOR PAPERS

European Workshop on Planning (EWSP-91)

18-19 March 1991
St. Augustin, F.R.G.

Organized by Gesellschaft fuer Informatik (GI), FG 1.5.3;
supported by ECCAI and GI

Objectives.
The workshop is intended to provide a forum for the exchange of work
in AI planning in Europe. To provide an effective working atmosphere,
the number of participants will be limited to 50. Therefore,
participation is by invitation only. Workshop proceedings will be
published at an international publishing house after the workshop.

Topics of Interest.
Papers are invited on significant, original, and unpublished research
on all aspects of AI planning, including, but not limited to: plan
generation, plan recognition, formalization of planning techniques,
formal theories of action, planning in uncertain environments, and
applications. System demonstrations are welcome but in general can
only be accepted in combination with a paper describing that system or
some of its details.

Details of Submission and Application.
Authors should submit 4 copies of their papers in hardcopy form. These
must include a title page consisting of the title, full names of all
authors, their complete addresses, an abstract, and a list of
keywords. Papers should not exceed 10 pages plus title page plus
references; they should be printed in 12pt type. Please indicate you
hardware and software requirements if you would like to give a
demonstration of the system described.

Authors should indicate seperately whether they also apply for
participation in case of rejection of their submissions. Applicants
not submitting a paper are requested to give a brief description (1
page) of their research interests. Submissions and applications of
researchers from non-European institutions or countries are welcome,
but acceptance will be restricted, given the objectives of the
workshop. Send submissions and applications to:

Joachim Hertzberg, GMD, F3/XPS, Postfach 1240,
	D-5205 St. Augustin 1, F.R.G. (e-mail: hertz@gmdzi.uucp)

Schedule.
Papers must be received by November 15, 1990. Authors will be
notified of acceptance or rejection by January 15, 1991. An updated
version of the paper to be distributed to workshop participants before
the workshop must be received by February 15, 1991. Deadline for
other applications is December 31, 1990.

Workshop Information.
There will be no fees for the workshop. Accepted applicants will have
to pay their costs and arrange their accomodation by themselves; a
hotel catalogue will be provided together with the notification of
acceptance. We will try to arrange a limited number of travel grants
for students and participants from Eastern Europe, if necessary.
Please contact Joachim Hertzberg, at the address given above, if you
have problems with the arrangements.
