The USG 5.0 (System V) has some new, interesting features. LOGFILE info is a bit more descriptive, you can "uucp" to multiple machines (rather than only mail through multiple machines) and much more. Unfortunately, a lot of the old bugs still exist, as well as a couple I haven't seen before. The uuxqt lock file shows up now and again, blocking all uuxqt activity. Remeber the missing "fclose" problem? It's still there. It is quite obvious that the old UUCP system was just modified and upgraded into the new system. A real problem here is that these problems don't exhibit themselves or they aren't that noticeable until UUCP activity crosses some invisible load threshold. The developers must have a heluva time trying to find and fix this stuff. Has anyone started getting it fixed? If so, would you like to share the experience? I've got a 3B20S here with some users going through withdrawal with no news. I don't dare put up news there yet; uucp is too unreliable. Randy King ..we13!rjk
