[comp.laser-printers] LN03

lipton@halleys.UUCP (Gary Lipton) (05/14/87)

We have an LN03 and an LN03 Plus (an LN03 with beefed-up memory) running
under ULTRIX. We are successfully doing plots on the LN03 Plus by con-
verting pixels into sixels, and so on.  We would like to plot on the LN03;
however, the LN03 chokes on the data and plots garbage. The manual says
that the LN03 can only plot 150 bytes per line (which amounts to a half-
inch swath). We are thinking of slicing and dicing the plot into a lot
of pieces and feeding it to the LN03 as a font file. We would essentially
be loading a new font file for each section of the page. Is this a good
idea? Has anyone ever done this? Are there any pitfalls I should be aware
of?
  Also, does anyone know how to run troff on the LN03?
