Queries about the availability of public-domain TeX DVI to xxx-brand output devices seem to keep popping up on several bulletin boards. In January, I announced on TeXHaX a family of public-domain DVI drivers written in C, and this was repeated in the March 1987 TUGBoat (official newsletter of the TeX User's Group). Please see these sources for details, or send me mail personally (Internet: BEEBE@SCIENCE.UTAH.EDU), and I'll mail you a copy of the original announcement. Several operating systems and compilers are supported, and PK, GF, and PXL font files are all handled. Over 200 sites in several countries have now received these drivers, and new output devices from contributors are being added to the distribution. -------
