Since John Quarterman (jsq@ut-sally.UUCP) created net.nlang.india today but didn't make an announcement outside of the "control" newsgroup, I guess I'll do it for him. Here's what the control message had to say: This newsgroup, net.nlang.india, is being created from ut-sally because of the many positive postings from here about it, due to the large Indian student population. It is being created as net.nlang.india and not net.india, in analogy with net.nlang.celts and net.nlang.greek. Its purpose is not so much exploration of an exotic culture or locale by outsiders as communication among Indians. It is NOT just for the discussion of Indian languages. Anything (1) falling under the general rubric of Indian culture or (2) of special interest to the Indians on USENET is perfectly appropriate. This would include, but not be limited to, music, cooking, sport, film, politics, plane fares, or the latest gossip from the Indian community abroad. In addition, similar topics related to other South Asian countries (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc.) are quite welcome. --- Prentiss Riddle ("Aprendiz de todo, maestro de nada.") --- {ihnp4,harvard,seismo,gatech,ctvax}!ut-sally!riddle --- riddle@ut-sally.UUCP, riddle@ut-sally.ARPA, riddle@zotz.ARPA
