[comp.laser-printers] Imagen TCP/IP laser printer problems

MIGLESIAS@UCIVMSA.BITNET (08/05/87)

We recently purchased an upgrade kit to put our Imagen 2308 on an
ethernet, and after I installed it I have a couple of questions
and a thank you for laser-lovers. The printer is currently connected
to a VMS system with the Kellerman & Smith spooler (v1.1.6).

First, thanks go to Doug Fraser for posting his Imagen accounting
program. I was about to write one after I discovered that the
Kellerman & Smith software doesn't do it correctly for ethernet-based
printers (it does work for RS-232-based printers). I never did get
an answer from K&S about whether it worked.

Now, the questions:

I was running v2.2 of the IP software before I installed the ethernet
card. I then installed the v3.3 software that came with the ethernet
board and came across a small annoyance: The lines at the top of
the header page that were nicely printed in bold letters under v2.2
are not bold under v3.3 and are printed out in reverse order unlike
v2.2 which printed them out in the order specified in IMPRINT.FMT.
Is there a way to coerce v3.3 to print the headers out like v2.2 did,
with the bold letters? Is there a way to get the headers to come out
in the correct order? I borrowed a v3.3 manual (since I never
got my copy of v3.3 of the IP microcode that Imagen promised when
they shipped my printer) and looked for something obvious, but I
couldn't find anything.

Is there a newer version than v1.1.6 of the Kellerman and Smith spooler
out? It would be nice if it understands 3.3 as a valid version for the
IP microcode.

Thanks,
