[comp.laser-printers] What makes a PostScript file reversible?

ralph@lasso.UUCP (09/25/87)

This question concerns files processed by the Transcript package on a Unix
print server. Since the normal output of a LaserWriter is first page on
the bottom and last page on the top, face up -- Transcript provides psrv
and psrev to reverse Postscript files on the Unix machine before being
printed. I would very much like to make use of this service, but psrv
complains that my file is unreversible. I would very much appreciate
a definition of reversibility. Also, is there a difference between psrv
and psrev? Thanks a lot.

p.s. Please excuse my sending to both lists but I'm not sure whether
Info-Postscript is alive and well.
