I am doing my master's thesis on using TeX and Metafont for producing Music notation. I am interested in hearing from anyone who has done any work in this area. So far I am about half way to a working font and set of macros for basic music typesetting. For those who are interested, here is a list of current resources * John S. Gourlay, and the Musicopy group at OSU (see CACM May 1986 cover story). These folks will be issuing a bunch of tech reports within a few weeks; write to the CS Department to get on the mailing list. * Two theses have been written at Institut f\"ur Angewandte Mathematik, Universit\"at Bonn, Wegler Str. 6, 5300 Bonn, West Germany, by Angelika Schofer and Andrea Steinbach. Unfortunately, the work is in German and costs 25DM shipping and handling. (See TeXhax issue 75, A. Schmidt) A summary is promised in an upcoming issue of TUGboat. I am ordering this but I don't have it yet. If someone out there has a copy on line somewhere on USENET, BITNET or ARPANET that I could get to, please let me know. ************************************************************************** Phillip T.
