We recently recieved a QMS PS800II. We are using it as a printer for
our network of Suns & a Pyramid. The computers are running
transcript 2.0.
For some reason if I use ptroff on a Sun and output to the QMS,
chunks of text don't come thru. But if I send the output to a
LaserWriter+ or a NEC postscript laser printer, it prints fine. Even
more interesting is if I process the same input file thru ptroff on
the Pyramid and output to the QMS, it works fine!
Otherwise the QMS works fine. I printed stuff from a Mac+ and sent
general postscript files from the Sun and they all work fine. My
problem seems limited to output from ptroff only on the Sun. The
Transcript software is the generic Transcript package from Adobe.
The same source was used for the Sun and Pyramid versions.
Anyone have any idea of how to track down this problem?
