remaindered copies of this book, originally priced at $35.00, for $2.98:

They charge a flat $3.50 shipping, so it isn't worthwhile to order just
one book, but maybe you would have use for multiple copies of this. Or
you may want to ask for their catalog and order a bunch of stuff. (Check
your local library; they often have copies of PCB catalogs in their
acquisitions departments.)
The book is basically nothing but examples of typefaces, showing the
effect of varying various parameters (point sizes, horizontal size
percentages, leadings, kernings, and oblique & boldface). I had expected
more discussion of the equipment, but maybe it's better that it didn't
include that, as such info would become rapidly obsolete. The book was
produced on an Autologic APS-5, if that mattters to you.
It's a pretty specialized book, and I don't really know just what I'm
going to use my copy for, but it was cheap! :-)
