[comp.laser-printers] Canon SX

ram@typo.umb.EDU (Robert Morris) (12/01/87)

John Fuchs, jonbh@cunyvm.cuny.edu, points out that the SX engine
provides no signal to permit a controller to
either determine or query whether the paper will exit through the
rear or top. If the exit door at the rear is open, paper goes out that
way.

John observes that the rear exit "provides you with a straight paper path for
heavier weight paper or labels that might otherwise have problems
negotiating the 180 degree turn." With a CX you can not
derive this benefit with the paper tray, but only manually feeding.

Also, he writes that image size is determined by the tray in the
engine, even in manual mode, but I think this a controller specific
issue.
