We here in our Electrical Engineering Department are looking to buy a new laser printer and I'd like to get some recommendations. We already have an Imagen 8/300 but, while we've been satisfied with it, our needs have changed since we bought it. Here are our guidelines: We'd like it to run PostScript rather than Impress. We are gradually converting to TeX and want a printer that "speaks TeX's language." (In this vein, what is a good way to use troff with a PostScript printer?) We'd like it to be able to sit on an Ethernet. As our departmental LAN grows we want printer access to be easy. We can compromise on the Ethernet ability, it'd be nice but it's not essential. What are people using out there? I'd appreciate any comments or recommendations, good or bad, on what you are using. Thanks in advance! -- Edward C.
