[comp.laser-printers] no wonder Imagen had to be bought by QMS

reid@DECWRL.DEC.COM (Brian Reid) (03/19/88)

Today's mail brought me 15 identical copies of a large expensive
mailing from Imagen, which cost them $0.56 to mail and a couple of
dollars to produce. Actually, they weren't quite identical. A couple of
them had hand-typed address labels, but all of the rest had
computer-generated address labels.

Anyhow, Imagen has started a User Newsletter called @i[Impressario].
They are trying to find subscribers for it, so they have offered me a
prize of a free UltraScript upgrade for my ImageServer XP if I can help
them find any Imagen customers to send subscriptions to. Let me help
them out by using this forum: if you are an Imagen customer and you
would like Imagen to know this, then you should fill out this form and
mail it to them:

   Name: ________________________________________
   Title:________________________________________
   Company:______________________________________
   Address:______________________________________
   ______________________________________________
   ______________________________________________
   ______________________________________________
   Telephone:____________________________________
   Image Processor Serial Number ________________

Mail to "IMAGEN Corporation, ATTN Contest Coordinator, PO Box 58101,
Santa Clara, CA 95052". Entries should be received by April 1, 1988.

Since I dumped my Imagen printer many years ago to buy a genuine
PostScript(R) printer, I figure that if I win the prize I can decline it,
and they can use the money to help defray the costs of mailing 15 copies
of the flyer to people like me.
