I'm looking for a laser printer that meets the following criteria:
* HP II AND Postscript compatibility
* Duty cycle at least 10,000 pages per month
* Flexible paper handling options (several paper sizes, hopefully
more than one tray, large capacity, face up/down selectable)
* Durable and reliable (we anticipate heavy volume)
* Ease of installation and configuration
* Good support
* Proven compatibility with WordPerfect 5.0 and Ventura
* about $5,000 (or not much over that amount)
My research so far has led me to consider the Dataproducts LZR 1260
and the NEC Silentwriter LC890 XL. These list at about $8000 and
$7000 respectively so they do stretch my $5000 limit. Also, on the
Dataproducts 1260 a second 250 sheet paper tray is optional.
Any firsthand experience with the above laser printers or ideas
for alternatives that satisfy my criteria?
Thanks to all Netters for the continuing responses on my
Ventura vs. WordPerfect query posted in comp.text*. Most
have posted their responses, but as requested by several people
