I inherited a VAXstation 3100 last week, which is presently running VMS. In addition, I was given a NEC 890 Post Script laser printer. As a UNIX user who speaks troff, and one who has been outputting troff files to an Imagen laser printer for the past two years, I do not want to have to change over to VMS and Post Script. As a result, I need some assistance. (1) How do I configure the NEC printer to the VAXstation? (2) Assuming the NEC printer is configured to the VAXstation, is it possible for me to send it troff files, which have been downloaded from a UNIX machine via ftp? (3) Since my troff files have been output to an Imagen Printer, what would I need to do to have them output to a Post Script printer? (4) Does VMS have something comparable to troff and Imagen laser printer output? Any insights, suggestions, comments, or assistance that can be provided would be both welcomed and would increase my current level of productivity. M.
