Subject: Experiences with the Brother HL-8e laser printer? Newsgroups: comp.laser-printer Keywords: laser printer, HP compat I'm considering purchasing the Brother HL-8e laser printer for my UNIX system. No, it's not Postscript compatible, but then again I don't have software to take advantage of Postscript. Brother does offer an upgrade path for the printer to make it "postscript compatible" like the Brother HL-8ps. Has anyone had experiences, good or bad with the printer? The reasons why I'm considering this instead of the HP LaserJet Series II, are ... - More standard internal fonts - Accepts HP compatible and HP font cards - 1MB memory standard - Same engine as the HP LJ II (Canon SX) - 5 emulations, including HPLJ, HPGL (plotting), Epson FX, Diablo-630, IBM Proprinter, ... What does the net think? The printer costs about $200 more than the HPLJ II, but for $200, I'm getting a lot more ... Would I be missing anything?
