I just bought a Brother HL8-PS which uses BRScript, a postscript compatible interpreter. The problem I'm having is that when it encounters a postscript syntax error, it displays a message: 'Ignore Data' on the LCD display and requires me to manually reset the printer via the printer's front panel. Even with an error handler loaded in, the error handler prints, then I still get this message. Is there any convention for resetting serial printers ? This would allow the software to do a reset after encountering an error. Unfortunately, the Brother manual has no information on this, or whether the printer understands any typ of control code info. The technical support phone number listed for the printer never gets answered. Other than that, the printer works great. It's reasonably fast, and so far, it's been very compatible with my DTP software FRAME. -jaz jaz@calvin.icd.ab.com
