Has anyone had any problems with hooking up and using a HPlaserjet to a Sun3/50?? I connected a nul modem cable to serial port A on our 3/50 and before I could get the printcap entry changed, the machine rebooted twice with messages similer to the following: panic: parity error (other stuff deleted) MEMORY ERROR! status D2, DVMA-BIT 1, Context 0 Vaddr: FFDE68C, Paddr:003EA68C, Type 0 at FFFF9630 I hadn't even changed the menu on the HP to serial yet. I finally got the printcap changed and the HP menu changed. It halted about 4 more times within the next 20 minutes all during printing or attempts to print. We are running a LaserWriter off the other port with no problem. Since I disconnected the cable to the HP we have had no problem. Has anyone had a similer experience or have any insight to the problem. Also, are there better filters then the lzcat, hpf stuff floating around???
