I just saw an ad in a liquidator catalog for a "TAXAN laser printer with POSTCARD controller" The deal is for a printer and an AT controller card. The printer is a "Crystal Jet KE-200 Laser Printer" I can gather from the ad that the printer uses liquid crystal shutter technology at 300dpi. It is rated at 8ppm. The controller card is a "Abaton PostCard Printer Controller" It is a full-length AT card. It "processes postscript or PCL formatted files". If you have ever heard of either of these products, maybe you could answer a couple of questions: - is this a decent printer? - write-white or write-black? - how expensive are supplies? - will I be able to find supplies into the future? - is the controller true postscript or an emulation? - if emulation how good is it? - does the board "look like" a printer port to the PC or does your software need a special driver? Thanks to all who take time to read an especially to those who reply. -- patrick pml@cacs.usl.edu ...!uunet!dalsqnt!gator!pml
