There is one big advantage that the TI has over most other brands and that is, it will go busy during (no lost of characters) while switching modes. The only problem is you will either need to send out the initialization code out each time you send a document or keep up with what mode the printer is in before you send your document. Switching between mode does slow down the effective output, not the printing speed. It might be a good idea if you spool all your PostScript files together send them and then spool your HP LaserJet files. The TI is not a real work horse but your sure can not beat the price for a full PostScript printer. By the way, the HP emulation mode uses real HP fonts and not the Adobe Type I fonts and you can down load soft-fonts to the on board memory. I do recommend that you get an additional 1 megabyte of RAM bring the total up to 2.5 megabytes. This speeds up the assembly of PostScript text with graphic images. Charles L. D'Englere -- C.
