[comp.laser-printers] Printing on a SS1 with a HP lj+

vvkmj@SPICA.LERC.NASA.GOV (Keith Jackson) (08/06/90)

I have a SS1 (4.0.3) with a HP lj+ connected to the serial port A.
My current printcap entry (I have tried a few) looks like:

lp:\
        :lp=/dev/ttya:\
        :sd=/usr/spool/lpd/lj:\
        :br#9600:rw:\
        :sh:fc#0177777:fs#06021:xs#00040:

All I get is junk when I lpr <filename>. Using a data analyzer, I see a little
junk then a bunch of ^g's and they don't stop. I have to drop DTR on the
analyzer to stop it.

If I cat the same file to the dev (/dev/ttya) it works fine!

Any help would be appreciated.
