I have finally finished the troff to DeskJet filter, infact I ended up doing two versions, one that uses the graphics mode of the printer (using the DeskJet compression algirithm) and another that converts vfonts to DeskJet soft fonts downloads them and then simply sends positioning information and the ASCII codes for the characters. The distribution also includes a program that displays the info in the DeskJet softfont header and another that creates DeskJet softfont files from vfonts. I have posted the source in eunet.sources (cat2deskjet, 3 parts) and I have sent them to comp.sources.misc (since they are suitable for both Unix and MSDOS). If you can't get them from these groups, send me mail and I will mail them to you. **vp email: vp@cui.unige.ch | Vasilis Prevelakis uucp: ...!mcsun!cui!vp | Centre Universitaire d'Informatique (CUI) Phone: +41 (22) 787 65 86 | 12 Rue du Lac, Fax: +41 (22) 735 39 05 | Geneva, Switzerland CH-1207 For every problem, there is solution that is simple, plausible and wrong. -- H.L.
