Hi. I really need some help from laser printer gurus. Our department purchased HPLJ-III with HP's Postscript and 2M option. We hooked up on SUN3 server. Usually, it is O.K. But once the printer hangs on some input it never flushes and other jobs constitute a long queue and are never printed out. Most of the files to be printed are outputs of dvi2ps, tr2ps, gtroff or dvips. I think that there is a problem in hand-shaking. What signals should I give to HPLJ in the filter to prevent the printer from hanging ? We ordered 'HPLJ-III Techical Manual' and they said we will receive it after 4-6 weeks, and we need to fix it ASAP.
