[comp.laser-printers] About stroke on LaserjetIII ....

alberto@CDC835.CDC.POLIMI.IT (Alberto Olgiati) (04/11/91)

Anyone know how to raise a low level of stroke in printing with laserjet III ?

I know that bold is 3 and normal is 1 but I can obtain another value (as -3).
I want to type a little more light not to save toner but because i need a
  very light contrast.

Have I to wait for a LOW TONER of my printer or ????

Stroke weight on a LaserJet is NOT an operator, rather it is part of the
selection criteria for resident fonts. That is, in order to print with
a font with a stroke weight of -3, then there must be a resident font
of that stroke weight.

Look at your font cartridges and try to find a light font, then check the
manual to see how to select it.
