As promised I am posting the info on how to get our home-grown PS spooler software. It has the following features: supports 11x17 (designed for the Nissho, but you could hack it without much trouble for another machine) supports Ps printers attached to NCD X terminals (neat feature of NCD) provides detailed accounting provides a simple easy "print" command, though you will prb. have to hack it 'cause it presupposes ArborText Publisher for printing dvi files supports "elitist user" (all User X's jobs will get priority) feature and it works. It likes to have mpage (the PD many-up print software that is also free) and you can get that from us too, including our mods to make mpage support 11x17 paper. It this is somewhat incoherent I beg your collective forgiveness as it has been one helluva day. Anonymous ftp to helios.ucsc.edu (128.114.130.37) -- it's in the pub directory. You are welcome to anything else you find there, but what you are really interested in is printps.tar.Z and mpage.tar.Z Now, this is free and you are entitled to all the support you have paid for :-) ... seriously, we are really crazy-busy these days and can't give you any help. I think it is all well-enough documented that you can figure it out, or help each other. When (if) I am able to get my head above water again I will post an invitation for questions and comments on the ps print software. NB -- this is the current version of pscontrol, which relies on the printer's internal clock to track printer CPU time used, so the HP LJ 3si will lie. de .............................................................................. : De Clarke, Computing Resources Mgr.
