[comp.laser-printers] Latex problem

cs00sln@UNCCVAX.UNCC.EDU (See l ng) (04/19/91)

I have a latex postscript file with the size 443976.
When I sent the 'ps' to the Apple LaserWriter,
it printed only half of the printout.

The rest of those pages have been truncated.
I think it is because the printer buffer is too small.

I tried 'dvi2ps' with a flush option to flush out
those fonts that have been used.

However, the 'dvi2ps' I have does not provide this option.

I tried 'lpr' with '-s' option to create a link
between printer and host.
This option can make the printer copy data from the source dvi
instead of copy the entire file into the printer buffer.

Unfortunately, such option works only if the printer is
not a remote printer.

Is there anyway to compile one 'dvi' files into separate
consecutive 'ps' files ?

The consecutive here means the numbering in latex will not
be reset to zero if it is in a new 'ps' file.

MayDay, MayDay. I'm calling for help.
