Our uucp "bites the big one" after sending 20 files, no matter how large or small they are. Is there a bugfix for this annoying little problem? It NEVER gets past 20 files. Phil Cohen (619) 457-2270

Concerning sdcsvav!phil's problem with uucp dying after 20 files...
We had a similar problem with the SCCS get command. Get didn't close
a file before opening the next. Eventually, it accummulated 20 open
files, and POW! (You can only have 20 open files, a long standing
UNIX tradition). While I don't have a fix for this specific problem,
you might want to look at this as a potential cause.

The original version of uucp had many, many bugs. Many of them have been fixed over the years by many people. There are now several different identifiable versions of uucp, plus many locally-tweaked versions. Please, when reporting problems, TELL US WHAT VERSION OF UUCP YOU ARE RUNNING. If you are running the stock uucp that came with your current version of UNIX, tell us what that is.
