We have recently begun to utilize UUCP to a great extent with a widely varying group of systems. I am have a problem with wildcard file requests. What I want people to be able to do issue the following command on their system: uucp okstate!/u/kermit/ux* /usr/spool/uucppublic/kermit This should send a request (of some kind) to our system and queue up the requested files for subsequent transmission. The problem is that there seems to be two different ways that UUCPs are performing this task. One way is to remotely execute (via UUX) the UUCP command on our system. The other way is to include a 'X' line in the C. file. The second way seems best to me and is the one preferred by our UUCP (V7 w/ Berkeley enhancements), but I would like to know what System V does about it. I would also like to know what versions generate the UUX command. Please mail any help that you can provide. I will summarize to the net if there is enough interest.
