About a month ago I put a message out on the net describing problems I was having using the Micom M3024 modem in conjunction with uucp. The problem was that in the middle of the disconnection procedure, the local micom modem would drop the connection and uucico would read a lot of "w"s before the modem would go idle. Guy Harris (sun!guy) posted a note that told of a slight problem with the uucico disconnect procedure. I put in the more preferable sounding fix of the two he proposed and the problem has disappeared. This doesn't mean that I am thrilled with the Micom modem, it does mean that if you have one and want dialer code for it, I have it. My personal feelings are that I would prefer to stay away from a modem that is this touchy. I did contact Micom about the problem, but could never get past the trouble-shooting person on the other end. Not that he wasn't interested in solving the problem, it is just that he knew less about modems than I did. The above statments are purely personal and should not be construed in any way to be a public statement of the corporation I work for. Oh yea, thanks a lot Guy, next Sun I buy, I'll tell them to give you the profits. sid
